100 WOMEN WHO CARE

WHO WE ARE

Our Roots

Our strength lies not only in the words we stand by, but most importantly in the actions of our initiatives. From the moment the national chapter started their work in 2000, they understood that by working together we could overcome our challenges much more efficiently, and that is why we ultimately decided to launch 100 Women Who Care PDX SW Suburbs. We strive to make a positive change in all of our pursuits.

HOW IT WORKS

Join us in a meaningful community initiative! We gather for just one hour, four times a year.  Each member contributes $100 per meeting for a total of $400 per year. Members committed to our cause can nominate local charities.  The nominations are put into a hat and three names are drawn at the meeting.  The people who nominated the three nominees will be asked to present their charity, with nominating members giving a 5-minute pitch followed by a 5-minute Q&A. We then vote, and the chosen charity receives all the checks on the spot! Our simple rules ensure fairness and transparency, emphasizing a $100 donation per meeting. Unable to attend? Pass your check to a member.  As our name implies, our goal is to gather 100 women together.  With each making a donation of $100, we are then able to support the chosen charity with a $10,000 donation.  We support 501c3 organizations, excluding national charities, religious and political charities. Let's make a difference together!

I understand I am making a personal commitment to donate $400 each year ($100 at each quarterly meeting) to charities serving the Portland, OR SW Suburbs area.

I understand that even if the majority votes for a charity that is not my first choice, I will donate to it. If I am unable to attend a meeting, I will mail my check or donate online via the charity's website.

I understand that only committed members may nominate a local nonprofit to go into the "hat" at future meetings.
